The Bishop of Elphin is thanking all of the essential workers who are using their gifts in service of others this Christmas.
In a special seasonal message, recorded for Shannonside Northern Sound, Bishop Kevin Doran is reminding people that the work they do to help others is also the work of God.
He is also appealing to people not to be afraid to use technology to take part in Christmas services in whatever way they can, if it helps them to stay safe.
While numbers are limited for attendance at the celebration of masses, churches will remain open for people to visit for personal prayer and Bishop Kevin is urging people to take that moment to reflect over the festive season.
He says this year in particular, is a time to be thankful for the hard work and dedication of our essential workers and to consider how we ourselves can help others who need it.
