An Athlone hairdresser has scooped two major awards at this year's Irish Hairdressing Championships.
Shannen Hughes, a stylist working in Colour Republic in Athlone, was the winner of Trend Image of the Year, which is a bold, blunt cut with an undone look.
She also took the top prize for Colour Technician of the Year.

There were over 370 entries into the competition which is run by Irish Hairdressers Federation, which represents over 500 salon owners nationwide, who employ over 7,000 stylists.
