The HSE is asking everyone who is given a Covid test appointment to do their best to attend as almost 25% of all people who should have been tested in Leitrim last month failed to attend.
New figures show almost five thousand Covid tests were carried out at centres in the Shannonside region last month.
Over 2776 were carried out at the testing centre in Roscommon in January and over 1973 in Longford.
According to the HSE, between the week ending the 24th of January and the 31st of the month, a total of 204 tests took place in Carrick-on-Shannon.
However, the HSE says the did not attend rate in Leitrim was 25.4 % and health bosses are encouraging everyone who has been offered a test appointment to please make every effort to attend for their appointment.
Cavan and Monaghan's did-not-attend rate was just above 10% for the same time period.
