Nearly 200 sex-offenders are being supervised in the community after being released from prison.
191 were being monitored by the Irish Probation Service at the beginning of this month, 16 more than in May.
Those at high-risk of re-offending are monitored closely, especially for the welfare of children.
But rape survivor Debbie Cole says they need to be tracked even more closely, and is calling for electronic tagging to be introduced.
