Over 90 per cent of people in Roscommon, Galway and Mayo who are tested for Covid 19 will have their results either on the same day, or by the next day.
That's according to the Chief Officer of Community Healthcare West Breda Crehan-Roche who was updating members of the Regional Health Forum West on the region's testing capacity.
Ms Crehan-Roche also says the three drive through centres in Roscommon, Galway and Mayo, which are open seven days a week, will be augmented by a pop up testing centre in Galway City in the coming weeks, to help cater for people like students who may not have access to a car.
Eight new cases of Covid-19 in Roscommon were notified to the Department of health yesterday.
Two cases were also added on Saturday.
There were a total of 430 new cases reported across the country yesterday.
