Over 5,000 homes and businesses are still waiting for power to be restored across the Shannonside region this evening.
Most of the power outages in the region took place in the early hours of this morning but some happened earlier this afternoon as well.
Some of the areas still worst affected this evening are Roscommon town and outlying areas which still has around 1700 customers without power, and another 600 are stil out in the Castlerea area.
Longford also still has a total of over 1200 homes and businesses without power with large blocks affected in the Longford town and surrounds area and near Ballymahon.
There are 150 properties still waiting for power to be restored in Carrick-on-Shannon in Leitrim, while 140 people are still affected by outages on Boyle, and another 150 in Edgeworhtstown in Longford are still out.
There are around 300 people without power in the Finea area on the borders of Cavan, Longford and Westmeath, with another 77 affected in Derrycramph in Cavan, and 39 in Carrigallen on the Sligo Leitrim border.
Estimated restoration times for those affected in the region range from 9 o' clock tonight until 3 o clock tomorrow afternoon.
Communications Officer with the ESB Paul Hand says there will be some pockets where power may not be restores by this evening.
He says people can expect to get accurate restoration times on powercheck.ie
