227 more people have have tested positive for Covid-19 and five more patients are confirmed dead.

As of midnight Tuesday 8th December, the HPSC has been notified of 227 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There is now a total of 74,900 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.

As of 2pm today 224 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 38 are in ICU. 14 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
Locally no new cases were reported in Leitrim, and fewer than five in Longford and Roscommon.
