Zurich Insurance's Irish branch has today announced that it is buying the former Liberty Insurance from Italian company Generali for €337 million.
In 2024, Generali bought the former Liberty Insurance, and rebranded the business as RedClick.
The company has a workforce of over 400 employees, across offices in Cavan, Enniskillen, and Dublin.
Liberty Insurance was the Irish operation of Liberty Mutual in the US, and had taken over from Quinn Insurance in 2011 and Spanish company Liberty Seguros in 2018.
In a statement this morning, Zurich said that the acquisition is fully in line with its retail strategy and will transform its market position.
Anthony Brennan, CEO of Zurich Ireland, said he looks forward to welcoming RedClick, and bringing together the strengths of Zurich and RedClick to enhance its ability to serve customers, brokers, and partners across Ireland.
