Serious safety concerns have been raised outside a national school in County Roscommon.

A survey of parents at Threen National School near Castlerea found 96 per cent felt unsafe dropping and collecting their children.

The results of the survey were presented by Cllr Ruth Conboy at this morning's meeting of Roscommon Municipal District.

Roscommon County Council says it will review existing signage near the school and advised the school to apply for funding from the National Transport Authority.
