Women are being urged to 'change the pattern' when it comes to representation on local county councils. An online webinar aimed at increasing female participation in local politics will take place this evening. It's part of joint initiative by See Her Elected and Roscommon County Council which has seen a number of events taking place across Roscommon in recent months.
The campaign has involved visits to secondary schools by SHE campaigners and county councillors. Michelle Maher, programme co-ordinator with See Her Elected, says it's about changing the status quo:
