The wife of a Roscommon resident, in jail in Iraq, is issuing an emotional appeal for his release today - on the fourth anniversary of his arrest. Robert Pether has been in prison since 2021 because of a contract dispute between his employer and the Iraqi government.
He's in bad health, with cancer, but could be in jail there for another 15 years. His wife Desree lives in Elphin with their family - she's desperate for Robert to be released:
