The Shannonside region is being braced for a change in weather conditions over the next number of days. Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for tomorrow and Sunday for counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
The national forecaster is warning of localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions in the affected areas as it predicts spells of heavy rain with possible thundery showers. Cathal Nolan of Ireland's Weather Channel says no warnings have been issued locally as of yet:
