Uisce Éireann is warning of low water pressure and possible supply outages for customers on the North East Regional Water Scheme in County Roscommon.
The issue follows problems at the Grange Water Treatment Plant, affecting areas including Strokestown, Ballyleague, Ballybeg, Elphin, Tarmonbarry, Slatta and Scramogue.
The plant is now back in full production, but it will take several hours for reservoirs to recover.
Normal supply is expected to be restored overnight, though it may take longer for homes on higher ground.
Customers are being asked to conserve water in the meantime.
