Water upgrades are on the way in parts of county Longford.
Uisce Éireann are carrying out works to replace old and damaged water mains in Abbeyshrule.
From Lisnadreenagh Cross on the N55 to Legan Village, 800m of new, modern pipes will be installed that will strengthen the local network and reduce disruption to homes and businesses.
The existing pipes were prone to bursts and leaks, leading to supply interruptions and the loss of treated drinking water.
The project is being delivered by Ward & Burke on behalf of Uisce Éireann with completion expected by the end of May this year.
