Seventeen people have been waiting for a council house in Leitrim for over eight years.
Most are looking for homes in the south of the county.
New figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, show 295 people are on the waiting list for social housing in Co Leitrim.

Three quarters of them have been waiting less than three years but some for a lot longer.
Twelve have been waiting for between eight and 10 years - they're looking for houses in Manorhamilton, the Drumshanbo region, Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballinamore.
A further five have been waiting over 10 years, with their areas of choice being the Drumshanbo region, Carrick-on-Shannon, and the area near the Cavan border, covering Aughavas, Carrigallen, Carrawallen and Newtowngore.
