Visiting restrictions introduced at Sligo University Hospital

Hospital management are appealing to the public not to visit if they have any symptoms of either virus as it can put patients at risk.

Visiting restrictions have been put in place at Sligo University Hospital due an outbreak of Norovirus and Covid-19.

The hospital is currently dealing with a norovirus outbreak impacting two wards, with COVID-19 impacting two further wards.

Visiting to the affected wards is limited to compassionate grounds only, with arrangements needed in advance with the ward nurse manager.

Hospital management are appealing to the public not to visit if they have any symptoms of either virus, as both conditions can have a major effect on the health of a patient.

Those attending the hospital are urged to wear facemasks and use hand sanitizer stations across the facility.
