Vigil held in Westmeath for children who died in car fire

The tragedy took place near Multyfarnham on last Friday afternoon

The two children who died in a car fire in County Westmeath have been remembered at a vigil.

It was held last night in Multyfarnham, where hundreds of people turned out.

The 2 year-old boy and 5 year-old girl died in the tragedy on Friday afternoon.

A candlelit procession made its way from the local preschool where the little boy had begun attending this year, to the national school where his older sister had been a pupil.

A woman in her 40s is still being treated in a Dublin hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
