The temporary solution to the south Roscommon flooding crisis will become operational today, for the first time.
OPW Minister Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran will switch on the pumping system at Lough Funshinagh this afternoon.
It will be in operation for two years until a permanent solution is in place.
Local Independent councillor Laurence Fallon says it’s a big relief to residents whose homes are at risk of flooding.
