Very big gorse fire breaks out on Roscommon/Leitrim border

A major gorse fire has broken out on the Roscommon/Leitrim border this afternoon.

It's located just outside Rooskey village, on the Carrick-on-Shannon.

Leitrim Fire Service is at the scene, trying to bring it under control.

Smoke is visible throughout the Rooskey region and at least one rural road is closed.
