Two women have been arrested following a violent incident in Longford town this afternoon.
Gardai are investigating an assault that took place in Penneys in Longford town shopping centre this afternoon after 3pm.
It's understood that a young woman in her 20s was injured in an altercation that involved at least one knife.

The two women are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Longford Garda station.
The store was sealed off following the incident and it is not expected to re-open until tomorrow.
Gardai in Longford are appealing for witnesses.
