Two men charged in connection with a fatal assault in Athlone last weekend are due back in court today.
Paul 'Babs' Connolly from Edenderry in Co. Offaly was on a stag party in Athlone, when he was assaulted on Church Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Sean Munnelly aged 35, with an adress of Irishtown, Athlone and 18 year-old David Higgins of St Paul’s Terrace, Athlone, appeared before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court last Sunday.

Both were charged with violent disorder and assault causing harm to the 47-year-old.
They are due to appear via video link at Mullingar District Court today.
