Two thirds of Carrick Tidy Towns volunteers are Ukrainian

Two thirds of the 70 or 80 Tidy Towns volunteers in Carrick-on-Shannon are Ukrainian refugees.

The group is busy preparing the town for the second round of judging for the Supervalu TidyTowns Awards later this year.

In 2023, judges were 'very impressed' with Carrick and the committee's commitment and enthusiasm.

Carrick Tidy Towns chairman, John Gaffey, says the Ukrainians are a big addition.
