Two people have died in a house fire in south Roscommon overnight

Gardaí were alerted to the fire at Gurth, Ballinasloe, Co. Roscommon in the early hours of this morning Thursday 13th May, 2021 at approximately 2a.m.

Three units of fire brigade and ambulance attended the scene assisted by Gardaí from Ballinasloe, Clonark and Roscommon.

The bodies of a  man and one woman both in their 50's have been removed from the scene.

Gardaí and fire brigade remain at scene at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.
