It's emerged that two cases at Portiuncula maternity unit in Ballinasloe are under investigation.
The Irish Independent are reporting one involves a baby who suffered brain injury due to lack of oxygen, and another stillbirth.
That brings the total number of cases under review to twelve.
In July, it was announced that no high-risk mothers would be seen by their maternity services anymore.
HSE Chief Executive, Bernard Gloster is due to tell the Oireachtas Health Committee today the care provided to 12 women and their infants at the Portiuncula maternity unit had been reviewed or is currently undergoing review.
