Two men in late teens pronounced dead in Ballina collision

The incident involving one vehicle happened in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Ballina, Co. Mayo.
The incident involving one vehicle happened in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene on a local road (L5140) at Laghtadawannagh near Ballina.
Two of the car's occupants, both adult males in their late teens, were pronounced deceased.

Three other occupants, two males in their mid teens and one adult female in her late teens, were transported by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital.
Their injuries are not life-threatening.
The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
The road remains closed to facilitate a technical examination, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, including motorists with camera footage from the area at the time.
