Two men arrested have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Athlone.
The two men, one in his 20s and one in his late teens were detained at Athlone Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Following the incident on Gleeson Street, two other men were hospitalised with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The two arrested men have subsequently been charged and appeared before Longford District Court.
Anyone who may have been in the Gleeson Street area on Monday between the hours of 7pm and 8pm is being urged to Athlone Garda Station on 090-6492600.
