Irish Rail services between Athlone and Westport remain suspended after a freight train failure near Knockcroghery. Bus transfers have been arranged for affected passengers travelling on the route.
The disruption had forced the 12:45 Heuston-Westport service to terminate early at Athlone. Rail operators say crews are working to restore services, but major delays are expected until further notice.
