TII urged to revisit N61 decision
The N61 goes through Knockcroghery

The €80 million development was in the pre-planning stages for five years prior to the decision.

Plans to upgrade the N61from Roscommon to Athlone be reconsidered by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

That's according to Councillor Laurence Fallon, who raised concerns at this month's Athlone Municipal District meeting.

Plans to upgrade 14 kilometres of the road and bypass the village of Knockcroghery were shelved in 2022 by TII.
