Transport Infrastructure Ireland is refusing to attend a meeting of Roscommon County Council to discuss a dangerous crossroads.
The local authority wants to talk to them about Scramogue Cross - which councillors claim is an accident blackspot.
TII is refusing to carry out immediate action on the junction because it's not a high-collision location.
The state agency says it won't come to a council meeting, as requested - but will meet a small delegation at their own offices, or online.
