Thunderstorm warning in place for local counties this afternoon

A status yellow thunderstorm warning is in place in parts of the west and midlands.

It runs in Connacht, Donegal, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath from 3pm.

Met Eireann says there will be heavy downpours, thunderstorms and the chance of hail.
