A work-to-rule is in place from today as thousands of SIPTU ambulance staff members are set to strike over pay disputes with the HSE.
A picket will start nationwide tomorrow morning for 24 hours at local ambulance stations, including Roscommon, Loughglynn and Boyle.
SIPTU says the National Ambulance Service has failed to update staff salary scales to reflect changes in their responsibilities and workload over the last 20 years.
Last week, approximately 2,000 SIPTU members in the National Ambulance Service voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action.
