The introduction of a National Therapy Service for schools will come as a relief for families across Roscommon and Galway, according to a local Fine Gael Senator.
Senator Gareth Scahill says services will begin in special schools later in the next academic year.
The aim is to bring therapies directly into schools, reducing delays and helping children access support where they learn.
The initial focus will be on speech and language, as well as occupational therapy.
He says the move will help students reach their full potential and ease pressure on families.
