Ten people were rescued from a sinking speedboat in the River Shannon at the weekend.
The incident happened near the M6 Bridge in Athlone shortly before ten o ' clock on Saturday night.
A crew from the RNLI base at Coosan Point reached the scene in six minutes and on arrival found that the 10 people onboard had been transferred to another vessel while the speedboat had capsized and sank.

No one was injured in the incident.
