TD takes aim at Roscommon councillors over failure to reopen local fire station

Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane has hit out at Roscommon County Council over the failure to reopen Castlerea Fire Station. The local authority confirmed once again this week that it cost €1.5 million to reinstate the station. It's been closed since 2017 with fire cover provided by other stations.

Castlerea councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice once again called for its reopening at the council's budget meeting this week. But Deputy Claire Kerrane claims he hasn't been vocal enough on the matter:
