The Taoiseach will officially open a new 50-bed ward in Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe this morning. The €34 million project will not add extra beds to the hospital, but it will replace outdated facilities with single-bed rooms. Simon Harris approved the project when he was health minister five years ago. South Roscommon councillor Emer Kelly says it's great it's finally opening.
