The Taoiseach says talks are ongoing regarding Athlone becoming Ireland's first Green City.
Developer Sean Mulryan and Ballymore hope to complete the project by 2040.
Following a presentation to Roscommon councillors earlier this year, Mulryan said the Government now needs to progress the plans.
