Storm Bram causing disruption in the Shannonside region this afternoon

Earlier today it was confirmed that a number of schools in the Shannonside region would be closed.

Storm Bram has already caused some disruption in the Shannonside region this afternoon. A status orange weather alert came into effect across Leitrim, Roscommon and Longford at 11 o'clock today. Roscommon County Council has advised that today's mobile library will not be in operation in the Boyle area due to Storm Bram. Library users have been advised to use their membership card in any other branch library on access services online at www.roscommoncoco.ie/libraries.

Meanwhile, bingo in Boyle and Athleague in County Roscommon and Ballinamuck in County Longford has also been cancelled due to the ongoing weather alert. Earlier today it was confirmed that a number of schools in the Shannonside region would be closed due to Storm Bram. Carrigallen Vocational School, Drumshanbo Vocational School, Carrick-on-Shannon Community School, Ballinamore Community School, Mohill Community College, St. Nathys College, Ballaghaderreen and Abbey Community College, Boyle all remain closed today. A status orange weather alert remains in place across Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford until 7 o'clock tonight.
