The country is waking up to frost and ice, with the first of a number of weather warnings in place.
The entire country is subject to a status yellow low temperature and ice warning until 10am.
Temperatures have fallen between minus 1 and minus 3 degrees, leading to hazardous travelling conditions.
A status yellow rain and snow warning has been issued for Cavan, Donegal, Longford and all of Connacht, with a similar alert for rain for Cork and Kerry - both of those kick in at midday and will run until midnight.
