It's estimated the stalling of Ballaghaderreen's upgrade has cost Roscommon County Council around a quarter of a million euro.
Work is nearly half completed on the 4.5 million euro public realm enhancement project.
But it has been stopped for the past 13 weeks because of daily protests by some local traders - with mediation talks ongoing.
