A newly professional U.S. ice hockey player who has strong ties with County Leitrim has signed for one of the greatest teams in the world, Spartak Moscow.
Joey Keane is the son of former Leitrim footballer Joe Keane who hails from Drumshanbo but now lives in Chicago.
The former New York Rangers member arrived in Moscow yesterday to start his one-year term with the Russian team.

Last season, the 23-year-old scored 45 points in 80 games with the Chicago Wolves which saw them win the Calder cup.
His father Joe Keane is well known among the Leitrim and Irish diaspora in the United States.
