The rising cost of groceries is having a 'particularly acute' impact in Co Roscommon.
That's according to local TD Martin Daly, who highlighted the toll of the increasing cost of living on locals during a debate in the Dáil.
He said the issue of increasing food prices at supermarkets was heightened even more in rural areas during the recent fuel crisis.
The Fianna Fáil politician is calling for the government to establish a grocery price watch like the CCPC to protect consumers and examine retail pricing practices.
