Sligo's orthopaedic theatre 'worst' in the country - Kenny

The Dáil has been told Sligo Hospital's orthopaedic theatre is the worst in the country.

There have been several leaks in the facility in recent years - leading to surgeries being postponed.

The theatre was temporarily closed for eight days last month due to the latest leak.

Leitrim TD Martin Kenny, from Sinn Féin, has raised the issue with Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill in the Dáil:

Deputy Kenny also called for the surgical theatre to be replaced as soon as possible.
