Sligo University Hospital has reiterated its plea to people with flu-like symptoms not to visit the hospital.
The facility previously made an appeal this week as flu cases continue to rise sharply in the community.
Five flu outbreaks have now been confirmed on separate wards , an increase on two outlined earlier in the week.
18 patients with flu are being treated at Sligo University Hospital with a number of older people presenting to the emergency department with symptoms.
As an infection-control measure, strict visiting restrictions remain in place.
Visiting is limited to direct family only between 6 and 8pm, and children should not visit adult wards.
Wards with active flu outbreaks will allow visits on compassionate grounds only.
If you have symptoms such as fever, aches, sore throat or cough, you're asked to postpone your visit for at least 48 hours after symptoms clear.
