131 people are waiting for a hospital bed in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region this morning. The Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital is the third busiest in the country today with 48 people waiting. That's followed by 43 in UHG in Galway and 16 in Mullingar Hospital.
Cavan General Hospital is currently dealing with 11 people on trolleys according to the INMO. While Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe and Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda have 8 and 7 people waiting for a bed respectively. Nationally, 546 people are waiting for beds in hospitals around the country this morning.
