Independent Sligo-Leitrim TD Marian Harkin has announced that she will stand in the next General Election. The Independent TD is seeking re-election after being successful in 2020.
Fine Gael's Frank Feighan, Sinn Féin's Martin Kenny and Independent Marc MacSharry are the other sitting TD's in the constituency with MacSharry not seeking re-election. Deputy Harkin says whilst she did consider not standing, her enjoyment for politics is still there:
