Slight decrease in number of homeless in Shannonside region in November 2022

The number of homeless nationally increased to 8,048, while the Shannonside region experienced a marginal decrease.

There was a slight decrease in the amount of people accessing emergency accomodationin the Shannonside region between October and November 2022.

New figures from the Department of Housing shows Longford experienced a slight increase in the number of homeless.

The new figures from the Department of Housing detail the number of people accessing emergency accomodation at the end of November 2022.

21 people in Longford accessed emergency accomodation at the end of November, up from 19 in October.

The Donegal-Leitrim area had 46, unchanged from October

While Mayo/Roscommon had 65 accessing emergency accomodation, however it's unclear whether Roscommon experienced an increase or decrease on the October figure of 11.

The figures also show the average age range of homeless in the county is between 25 and 44.

Nationally, just over 8,048 people are without a permanent abode, up from 7917 in October 2022
