Six out of 34 disqualified Leitrim drivers handed back their licences last year

Leitrim had the highest surrender rate when it came to disqualified drivers handing back licences and permits last year. New statistics from the Department of Transport show only 7 per cent of disqualified drivers surrendered their licences.

6 out of 34 drivers in County Leitrim complied last year compared to fewer than one in ten nationally. The figures provided to Social Democrats TD Aidan Farrelly, show only 4 per cent of disqualified drivers in Dublin handed back their licences.
