A local TD has raised some issues regarding the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar. There are only six units currently in Ireland with Mullingar ranked third busiest last year. Longford-Westmeath TD Sorca Clarke says people have highlighted accessibility, noise and space issues with the unit. The Sinn Féin TD raised the issue with HSE Chief Executive Bernard Gloster today:
