Sinn Féin are calling on the Government to detail the steps they've taken to oppose the Mercosur Trade Deal. The party is tabling a motion in the Dáil this evening condemning Ireland's negotiations at EU level. Sinn Féin's Agriculture Spokesperson Martin Kenny has accused Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael of trying to 'ride two horses'. It comes following Saturday's 'Stop Mercosur' protest in Athlone which was attended by over 20,000 people. Deputy Kenny says consumers will suffer if South American beef enters the market:
