People are being urged to shop in Longford town this Christmas – to prevent the closure of vital local shops.
Hundreds of people gathered on The Square in the town last night, as Santa switched on the Christmas lights.
Fine Gael councillor Peggy Nolan was on the stage as Santa arrived.
